¿QUE HACER SÍ NUESTRO GATITO SE PIERDE?
IMPORTANTE: movilizarse, salir y no solamente quedarse esperando que aparezca por sí mismo o que lo encuentren otras personas.
1) El gato que se pierde nunca se va muy lejos del sitio, donde se perdió, máximo 160-200 metros, pero por lo general mucho mas cerca.En el caso de estar desorientado y no saber como regresar, el gato, que vive en un apartamento, buscara otro apartamento, que vive en una casa – una casa, otros sitios posibles – el parqueadero o un árbol alto del cual no puede bajar, un sótano, una casa vacía. No busca espacios abiertos, ni zonas verdes extensas.
2) El gato después de perderse (casi siempre por un susto) entra en el estado de shock y puede permanecer inmóvil en el mismo sitio durante varios días sin comer ni tomar agua. El gato no va a responder a NADIE durante su búsqueda, solo a su PROPIETARIO, la voz de quien conoce muy bien, por esto la búsqueda debe ser realizada solo por el propietario del gato, si buscan varias personas, la voz de las cuales el gato no conoce, el gato no va responder ni a su propietario.
3) Las horas de búsqueda deben ser desde las 12 de la noche, hasta las 3 de la madrugada, cuando en la calle hay menos ruido posible, cuando el gato puede escuchar bien el llamado y el propietario su respuesta, y cuando no hay nada ni nadie quien puede asustar.
4) La búsqueda hay que empezar en la puerta de la casa o del apartamento, llamando al gato de la manera como el esta acostumbrado (se puede también usar el sonido de pepitas del concentrado, si el gato esta acostumbrado a el) y atentamente escuchar si responde( el gato perdido no sale, solo maúlla para responder a su propietario) .
5) Hay que moverse muy despacio, repitiendo el llamado cada 20 pasos y escuchando la posible respuesta hasta cubrir todo el área de búsqueda y de la misma manera, regresar lentamente mientras continua llamando (porque hay veces que el gato no contesta, no sale, pero viene detrás del propietario).
6) No hay que conformarse con una sola noche de búsqueda, hay casos, cuando el propietario de la mascota encuentra a su niño querido después de un mes de perdido o mas tiempo .
7) Si hay cámaras, hay que revisar para ver por donde salio el gato, pegar los carteles grandes con números de teléfonos, no solo celulares, también fijos y pedir a la gente, que avisen, en que sitio y a que horas vieron al gato. Es muy útil la información de los vigilantes, que circulan por la zona.
8 Si tu gato nunca he salido a la calle( no sabe como regresar, no tiene área marcada por el), riegue un poco de arena, en la cual tu gato estaba orinando alrededor de tu vivienda, el gato reconocerá su olor y esto facilitara su regreso. Durante la búsqueda es mejor poner la ropa bastante usada( sin lavar), para que el gato puede detectar tu olor.
9) El gato adulto difícilmente se deja atrapar por las personas desconocidas, mucho menos si está asustado.
10) Lo mas triste de las recomendaciones – tratar de hablar con los familiares o vecinos, si sospechan que el gato fue llevado a otra parte, porque no le gustaba convivir con él y si confiesan – ir a buscar al gato en el sitio, donde fue llevado.
11) Lo mas importante: ESTERILIZAR AL GATO Y NO PERMITIR SALIR A LA CALLE. La calle para los gatos es mortal. No hay excusa, cuando comentan: «Vivo en una casa, el gato sale por la ventana», es tan sencillo como enmallarlas y mantener la puerta principal cerrada.
• Sal en su búsqueda. Hay posibilidad de que tu gato se haya desorientado y esté escondido en un lugar muy cerca de casa. Cuando vayas en su búsqueda, llámalo y busca en diferentes rincones. Procura que alguien más se quede en casa y que mantengan abierta una puerta o ventana para que tu gato tenga por dónde entrar.
◦ Pon una referencia. Puedes colocar algunas de las cosas de tu gato en las mañanas de entrada de la casa, así podrá detectarlas a la distancia.
• Extiende la búsqueda. Haz un cartel con una foto de tu gato y tus datos de contacto para ponerlo en el vecindario, ya sea en postes o también en veterinarias y lugares de interés general. Además, ese mismo cartel lo puedes compartir a través de redes sociales para tener una mayor difusión, busca grupos de rescatistas y de tu comunidad cercana.
